About
Story-led factual work across broadcast, YouTube, podcast and creator long-form, digital and film.
Shane Cooke is a London-based freelance documentary and factual editor working across broadcast, digital, branded and long-form projects.
His work is strongest where there is a real story to shape: interviews, archive, scripts, voiceover and raw material that needs turning into a clear, engaging film. His approach goes beyond assembling shots, focusing on structure, pacing, emotional rhythm and the visual logic of each piece.
His credits include My Wife, My Abuser, which was nominated for Best Edited Current Affairs at the British Film Editors Cut Above Awards. He continues to work across documentary, history, science, investigations, branded films and digital-first factual content.
Shane works across Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, After Effects and Blender, combining editing, colour grading, motion graphics, sound design, title design, archive-led sequences and 2D/3D visual storytelling.
He uses modern tools and AI-assisted workflows where they improve the process, while keeping story, tone and editorial judgement human-led.
